TRANSFORMABLE LOUNGE

MOSCOW

This bright and spacious living room has a unique feature: a part of the wall panelling seems to have detached itself, standing offset to the main wall. Fixed from floor to ceiling, the detached screen smoothly pivots and reveals a TV area, transforming the use of the living room according to the user’s needs.

The central pivot mechanism hosts all the electrical cables for the TV and the sockets from one side, while from the other side, the metal profile running across the screen works as a hook for hanging a painting.

‘Inspired by the general design agenda of the studio based on movement and transformation, the rotating screens challenge the way we see walls as static, suggesting different ways of using them in order to provide flexibility of use.’
