PINCHED TABLE

The Pinched Table takes inspiration from the way that a tablecloth can wrinkle and crease while it’s being used. What can sometimes be considered a frustrating habit of the fabric has been picked, studied and transformed into something sculptural yet functional, easy and comfortable in its use.

The table is CNC-ed with a 5-axis machine from oak wood and then stained. The creases are filled with removable, clear CNC-ed plexiglass blocks that serve as trays for starters, aperitifs, glasses and bottles. The table legs are also made from transparent Plexiglas, taking the form of the underside of the table and giving the impression that the table floats.
